Spring Menus

Hi Friends! It is no secret that I am a recipe collector. Anywhere I can find a tested recipe that is not only good, but good for my family, gets my attention. Sometimes, the best sources can be right in front of you.

March Madness

Posted by Rebekka Quinn on 3/27/2014
Hello Everyone! Isn't it amazing how March Madness seems to sweep everyone into its net this time of year? Normally rational people who aren't fans get caught up in brackets. The good news is that after a long winter, it does encourage people to connect with each other and engage in something other than complaining about the weather.

Opening Day

Hi Everyone, My mother-in-law is a huge baseball fan. And although she is way past 90 years old, she enjoys America's favorite pastime as much or more than anyone I've ever known. I actually think that watching games during the season and in the off season down in Florida is what keeps her young and her mind sharp. She recalls players from the 1940s, 50s and 60s as if it were yesterday.

Welcome Visitors

Dear Friends, Today is the first day of Spring, although you wouldn't know it by the weather here. It is still cold, there is a layer of frozen snow/ice all over our yard and the sidewalks and I saw snowflakes earlier this morning.

Spring Cleaning

Posted by Rebekka Quinn on 3/19/2014
Dear Friends, With spring just around the corner, it's time for our household to do a little spring cleaning. We are trying to organize a block-wide garage sale for some time in May, so it is probably time to start organizing the items we want to sell.

St. Patty's is Just Around the Corner!

Top o' the Morning! This week is the build up to St. Patrick's Day which is next Monday. Besides the school projects that keep Tucker focused on green, there are the decorations at the stores and restaurants that certainly create a festive atmosphere. Have you ever thought about going to Ireland? It would be harder to imagine a greener place on Earth after looking at the calendars that are on this site.

Ides of March

Posted by Rebekka Quinn on 3/10/2014

Hello Everyone,

Although not quite the 15th of March, I was thinking of the quote from Shakespeare's Julius Caesar "beware the Ides of March".  This was the day that Caesar was assassinated and forewarned by the soothsayer.  March has always been one of those months that has signaled change for us.

Zen-Inspired

Dear Friends, Whether you are into yoga or other Eastern disciplines or not, there should be a little time in the day to just take stock of yourself. Your spiritual, mental and physical well-being can never be taken for granted.

Where's the Fun?

Hi Friends, I hope this will be the last post I write about how long and brutal this winter has been for us folks north of the Mason-Dixon line. With the bitter cold, huge snowfall, and just no warm weather in site, it's been pretty hard to find things for Tucker to do. I think we are on our 7th or 8th snow day this year. This will become pretty interesting in June when school extends two weeks after its normal last day.
