Recently I became aware of something called a calendar "frame". Obviously, this is something that goes around a calendar, maybe for decoration or some other purpose. My curiosity got the best of me and I checked it out.

I'm a planner as you have probably figured out by now. Always trying to be efficient and (hopefully) remembering dates and times. It's just the way I'm wired.

As you probably are aware (and who couldn't be with all the promotion)
the Olympics begin in a few weeks. This is one sporting event we just don't miss for 15 days straight. Sports we wouldn't watch on TV otherwise are irresistible when they are part of the Olympic venue.

Well, the inevitable happened yesterday. Just not enough power! We took a day trip to visit some friends up the shoreline yesterday. I forgot my car charger for my phone and iPad, but I had charged them overnight so at least I was starting out with a full charge in each. Surely this would last all day. Or so I thought.

Everyone has been encouraged to stay indoors and keep the roads clear. The major interstate is completely closed down and there is just no point in going anywhere. If you don't get into car trouble, the guy in front of you might, and then you are in trouble.

Today the temperature started to drop, and drop fast. By the time I had finished my morning schedule, did some errands and got home, the temperature had dropped from 20 degrees to just 5 above zero. The forecast is for sub-zero temperatures for the next 3 days.

For anyone who is a college football fan, today is the day! (At least until next week when the Bowl Championship Series culminates in the National Championship...something new and different.) But for the longest time, it was the Rose Bowl, the granddaddy of them all, that held interest all day long. From the Rose Parade that kicks off at 9
